The Institute comprises two divisions, the Commercial Division, and the Wedding & Portrait Division, enabling the Institute to represent the interests of most professional photographers in New Zealand.
A number of educational events are staged across New Zealand each year for the benefit of members working in the commercial, wedding and portrait fields. With the valued support of corporate sponsor Clendon Feeney Barristers and Solicitors, the Institute has produced a range of standard documentation including Terms and Conditions, Engagement Forms and other useful items relevant to the Industry.
The Commercial and Wedding & Portrait Directors are also responsible for convening the Qualification (or Q) Panels which meet on average 4 times per year to assess members' work in commercial, wedding, and portrait photography, which, if successful, enables members to display the wording 'Qualified Member of the NZIPP' in either Commercial, Wedding and/or Portrait photography.
